EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR/CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

The United Methodist City Society is seeking an Executive Director who will serve as the chief executive officer. He/she is responsible for the overall operation of the organization, including planning, financial control and personnel administration. He/she administers, directs, and coordinates all activities of the City Society to carry out its objectives for the provision of ministries, work with churches, the New York Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church, and local community organizations.

The Search Committee is looking for a person who has a variety of skills, gifts and experiences, such as:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • A member of the United Methodist Church
  • A strong faith commitment
  • Graduate degree, preferably at least a M. Div.
  • Can convey a vision for the future of the United Methodist City Society
  • Demonstrated successful management experience with an urban organization
  • A successful ability to raise significant funds from individuals, churches, foundations and through government grants.
  • Some experience with property management.
